Apple’s first foldable iPhone revealed: 24 megapixel under screen selfie camera

The report points out that this highly anticipated new model may make a significant technological breakthrough by adopting a 24 megapixel under screen front facing camera (UDC), thereby achieving a true full screen form without bangs or holes. However, adopting this technology also means that Apple will cancel its iconic Face ID unlocking scheme on this device.

In terms of imaging system, the rear of iPhone Fold will adopt a dual camera scheme, including a 48 megapixel ultra wide angle lens. In order to maintain the slim body in a folded configuration, the model is expected to make some compromises.

The report clearly states that this foldable screen device will not be equipped with a variable aperture, telephoto lens, and Time of Flight (ToF) sensor for spatial perception, which means its zoom capability and depth of field effect in portrait mode may be weaker than the Pro series models of the same generation.

Based on current rumors, the iPhone Fold will adopt a book like left-right folding design, with a folded thickness controlled within 10 millimeters. In terms of screen, it will be equipped with a 7.8-inch flexible inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer screen, with an expected price of up to $2000 (IT Home note: the current exchange rate is about 14254 yuan).

In terms of core configuration, the iPhone Fold is expected to be equipped with Apple’s yet to be released A20 chip and self-developed C2 5G modem. At the same time, the device will provide 12GB of running memory and up to 1TB of storage space, and be equipped with a 5500mAh battery.
