Will China lift its ban on the sale of American Micron? Response from the Ministry of Commerce

On November 6th, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference.

American Micron

Reporter’s question: Will China lift the ban on the sale of American Micron? Additionally, will the measure of suspending the inclusion of five companies under the subsidiary of Hanwha Marine on the list of unreliable entities be suspended? May I ask if the Ministry of Commerce will issue a formal statement revoking the series of measures taken on October 9th? Also, may I comment on the recent questioning of the legality of Trump’s tariff policies by the US Supreme Court?

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, He Yadong: Recently, the Ministry of Commerce has released relevant information on the joint arrangement of the China US Kuala Lumpur Economic and Trade Consultation, introducing the main achievements and consensus reached in the consultation, including fentanyl tariffs and law enforcement cooperation, agricultural product trade, US China maritime logistics, and the 301 measures for the shipbuilding industry. Both China and the United States have released official documents regarding tariff adjustments.

China is willing to work together with the United States to implement the consensus reached at the summit between the two heads of state and the results of the Kuala Lumpur Economic and Trade Consultation.

China has begun a cybersecurity review of Micron Technology, the largest memory chip manufacturer in the United States.
