On November 6, 2025, the World Internet Conference Leading Technology Award was announced. Baidu’s “script-driven multimodal collaborative high-fidelity digital human technology” received the award. This marks the third consecutive year that a Baidu large model has won the prize—following the 2023 “key technologies of knowledge-enhanced large language models” and the 2024 “Wenxin intelligent agent technology”—making Baidu the only AI company to win the award three years in a row.
The World Internet Conference Leading Technology Award is an international technology prize for the global Internet field, aimed at selecting the most forward-looking technological achievements worldwide and promoting technical exchange and cooperation. This year the competition received 424 submissions from 34 countries and regions, and after expert review 17 annual leading technology awards were selected.
At the ceremony, Baidu’s Chief Technology Officer Wang Haifeng attended as the presenter. He explained that Baidu’s script-driven multimodal collaborative high-fidelity digital human technology includes innovations such as script generation that integrates multimodal planning and deep reasoning, real-time interaction with dynamic decision-making, text-controlled speech synthesis, and high-consistency ultra-realistic long-form digital human video generation. “The technology overcomes technical challenges in real-time multimodal coordination and complex dynamic interaction, achieving coordinated consistency in a digital human’s language, voice, and appearance, improving the quality and interactivity of digital human live-stream content, and delivering features of ‘high emotional intelligence, strong interactivity, long endurance, and greater professionalism,’ with effects surpassing real humans,” he said.
Latest data show that more than 100,000 digital humans have been produced based on Baidu’s technology, applied across e-commerce, education, legal services and other industries, helping to reduce live-stream startup costs by up to 80% and increase live-stream conversion rates by 31%. The technology has been deployed in Baidu e-commerce scenarios for celebrity, book, and health live streams, helping many merchants expand sales channels, lower broadcasting costs, and improve operational efficiency.
Public records show that since 2016 Baidu has won the World Internet Conference Leading Technology Award seven times for innovations including Baidu Brain, DuerOS (Xiaodu Assistant), Apollo, PaddlePaddle, the key technologies of knowledge-enhanced large language models, Wenxin intelligent agent technology, and the script-driven multimodal collaborative high-fidelity digital human technology.
