This afternoon (the 6th), the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference, and the spokesperson answered reporters’ questions regarding Nexperia.

Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong: We have previously responded to reporters’ questions about Nexperia, and I would like to emphasize again that the Dutch side’s improper interference in Nexperia’s internal affairs has caused turbulence and disruption to the global semiconductor supply chain. The Dutch government, disregarding China’s repeated reasonable requests raised during consultations, has not shown a constructive attitude or taken constructive action, and has escalated the global supply chain crisis.
The Dutch side should bear full responsibility for this. Acting responsibly for the stability and security of the global semiconductor supply chain, China has also timely approved relevant export license applications from Chinese exporters and exempted qualifying exports, striving to facilitate Nexperia (China) in resuming shipments.

China hopes the Dutch side, from the perspective of safeguarding the broader China–Netherlands and China–EU economic and trade relationship and the stability and security of global supply chains, will take a responsible approach, meet China halfway, stop interfering in companies’ internal affairs, and seek a constructive solution to the Nexperia issue.
