Anduril Bolt series military quadcopter unmanned aerial vehicle

Anduril officially released the Bolt and its armed version Bolt-M series unmanned aerial vehicles on October 10th, 2024. This portable vertical takeoff and landing autonomous aircraft has reconnaissance, surveillance, and precision strike capabilities, and has begun to be delivered for evaluation and use.

Anduril has launched the Bolt series of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) autonomous aerial vehicles (AAV) that can be carried by individual soldiers, featuring simple use and flexible deployment, suitable for various tactical missions.

Bolt-M is a variant of Bolt ammunition designed to provide lethal precision firepower to ground forces, utilizing onboard software to achieve target tracking and strike automation.

The Bolt-M is driven and controlled by the Anduril tactical version Lattice software platform, equipped with advanced onboard AI/ML software that can automatically perform flight behaviors required for searching, tracking, and striking dynamic targets. The Bolt-M has autonomous waypoint navigation capabilities that can be modified as needed through a simple touchscreen interface, allowing operators to manage complex tasks without having to focus on basic navigation. #Artificial Intelligence # AI # quadcopter # drone # precision strike # military drone

The Bolt-M is designed to provide operators with the flexibility needed to adapt to rapidly changing battlefield conditions. Bolt-M provides target independent object tracking functionality, allowing operators to draw a bounding box around any visual target for Bolt-M to track, enabling combat personnel to respond in real-time to new and previously unseen threats.

Once the target is identified in the Lattice system, the operator can specify the position outside the defense zone maintained by Bolt-M, so that even if the target moves and is obstructed, the system can track the target outside the visual or acoustic detection range. When a strike is needed, the operator can define the angle of engagement to ensure the most effective strike, while onboard vision and guidance algorithms can maintain end of pipe guidance even in the event of loss of connection with the operator. It can be called precise firepower driven by artificial intelligence.

As a software defined feature, the Bolt series system benefits from a broader functional ecosystem integrated through Lattice, sharing sensors, targets, and other data between Anduril and third-party platforms, providing commanders with a comprehensive view of the battlefield and taking corresponding actions.
