Recently, Apple officially released the first public beta version of macOS Tahoe 26.2 to test users. This update follows closely after the developer beta was released the day before, marking that the system iteration has entered the comprehensive testing phase. Based on the release rhythm of previous versions, the industry generally expects the official version of macOS Tahoe 26.2 to be pushed to all compatible devices around mid December.

If users have registered on Apple’s official Beta software program website and joined the public testing project, they can download and install this beta version through the “Software Update” option in “System Settings”. Although this version is currently only available to developers and registered public test users, its updated content demonstrates Apple’s continuous optimization direction in improving daily user experience.
Although the macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta is a small incremental update, it introduces practical new features in multiple native applications. Among them, the “Reminders” application has added an option to “trigger an alarm upon expiration”, allowing users to receive clearer sound or notification reminders after setting task deadlines, further enhancing their time management capabilities. This improvement fills the gap of relying solely on notification prompts without an active reminder mechanism, especially suitable for work scenarios that require high timeliness.
The “News” application has undergone interface design adjustments. Although Apple did not provide specific details on the changes, according to test feedback, the new layout focuses more on clear presentation of content hierarchy and smooth reading, which may involve fine-tuning of font layout, card spacing, or information flow structure.
In addition, the “Podcasts” application has also experienced functional enhancements. Although the official has not yet disclosed all the new features, preliminary experience shows that the new version may have optimized playlist management, subscription recommendation algorithms, or audio playback control logic.
