On November 8th, JPMorgan’s latest research report showed that all flagship models of the iPhone 18 series will be equipped with a 24 megapixel front facing camera, an upgrade from the 18 megapixel camera of the iPhone 17 series.
Multiple sources have previously revealed that the entire iPhone 17 series will be equipped with a 24 megapixel front facing camera, but this rumor ultimately did not materialize. However, the 18 megapixel front camera equipped on the iPhone 17 series is already a significant update.
If JPMorgan’s report is true, the 24 megapixel iPhone 18 series will be the strongest front facing camera in Apple’s history, allowing users to take clearer and more detailed selfies.
JPMorgan’s report also mentioned that Apple’s foldable iPhone will be equipped with the industry’s first 24 megapixel under screen camera, while the iPhone 17e and iPhone 18e are expected to continue using a 12 megapixel front camera solution.
It is worth noting that starting from 2026, Apple will adjust the release rhythm of its iPhone product line. The iPhone 18 Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and foldable iPhone will be released in the second half of 2026, while the standard versions of iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will not be released until spring 2027.
