According to media reports, Alibaba has secretly launched the “Qianwen” project to create a personal AI assistant named Qianwen APP based on the strongest model of Qwen, fully benchmarking ChatGPT and joining the top competition of global AI applications. The core management of Alibaba sees it as the “battle of the future in the AI era” and hopes to win the competition by leveraging Qwen’s open-source technology advantages.

In September 2022, Alibaba Cloud officially released the “Tongyi” large model series at the Hangzhou Yunqi Conference, which is regarded as Alibaba’s first concentrated debut in the field of pre trained large models.
