South Korean Media Reports K League MVP Park Jin-seop to Join Zhejiang FC for $1.2 Million Release Clause
Beijing time, December 27 — According to South Korean media reports, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, who recently clinched a domestic double this year, is undergoing significant changes. In addition to head coach Gustavo Poyet having already departed, several key players are also showing signs of leaving the club.
The Seoul Newspaper reported that the most notable change for Jeonbuk Hyundai is expected to occur in defense. The team conceded only 32 goals in 38 matches during the 2025 season. Currently, defensive anchor Hong Jeong-ho has decided to leave the club. His contract with Jeonbuk expires at the end of 2025, and negotiations over a renewal have ultimately collapsed. He is expected to join Suwon Samsung Bluewings in K League 2.
Additionally, Park Jin-seop, the K League MVP and captain of Jeonbuk Hyundai—who plays as a center-back and defensive midfielder—is reportedly linked with a move to the Chinese league. Zhejiang FC has shown strong interest in Park and has consistently submitted offers. According to Korean-American football journalist Steve Han, Park Jin-seop is set to join the Chinese Super League club Zhejiang FC. On social media, Han revealed that Zhejiang agreed to pay Jeonbuk Hyundai a 1.2millionreleaseclauseandofferedParkanannualsalaryof1.5 million—nearly triple his current earnings at Jeonbuk.
