Domestic High-Performance Chip "Huashan A2000" Clears U.S. Review and Officially Launches in Global Market
On January 4, Black Sesame Technologies officially announced that its high-performance, full-scenario intelligent driving chip, the Huashan A2000, has successfully passed relevant reviews by the U.S. Department of Commerce and Department of Defense and is now authorized for global sale and deployment.According to the company, the A2000 chip achieved successful tape-out in January 2025 but underwent U.S. scrutiny due to its exceptionally high performance. After nearly a year of technical clarification and communication, it has now secured approval, making Black Sesame Technologies the only Chinese company to pass this type of U.S. review.
In terms of performance, the Huashan A2000 is built on a 7nm process and integrates multiple functional units—including CPU, DSP, GPU, NPU, MCU, ISP, and CV—enabling high integration and multi-task processing on a single chip. Its measured performance rivals that of today’s world-leading intelligent driving chips.
The chip also supports full FP16/FP8 floating-point and INT4/INT8/INT16 integer precision computations and comes with the mature AI toolchain BaRT, enabling efficient end-to-end development from model training to deployment.
As a high-compute driving platform designed for an open ecosystem, the A2000 supports automakers and third parties in developing and deploying their own customized solutions.
