On December 11th Beijing time, according to Shams, Dallas Mavericks center Lafley will undergo right foot surgery to address ongoing discomfort. He will not be able to play for the rest of the season and is expected to fully recover after the surgery.
This season, Lefley only played in 7 games for the Mavericks, averaging 4.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.6 blocks, and a shooting percentage of 61.1% in 16.4 minutes per game. His last appearance was on November 22nd, when in the game where the Mavericks defeated the Pelicans, Lefley played for 18 minutes, scoring 4 points, rebounding 2 assists, stealing 1 block.
On the 5th of this month, the Mavericks official updated the injury situation of Lefley. Due to swelling and discomfort in his right foot, Lefley has been absent and is seeking multiple opinions to determine the next step of the treatment process. However, with this confirmed surgery, Lefley will also be reimbursed early this season and will not be able to continue playing for the Mavericks.
