劳动者的劳动报酬应该由用工方支付,而不是靠顾客的小费,小费应该是服务好的额外奖励,但是在美国好像是是资本转移矛盾的一种方式,把资本和服务人员的矛盾,转移到顾客和服务员的身上去了。
我们国内有些很贵的高档餐厅会学习这种消费文化,美其名曰,服务费但是又没有到员工手上不好说

小费文化实际上就是雇主不想承担自己应尽的义务,极限压榨受雇方,迫使受雇方为生计向顾客索要消费,将雇佣成本转移到顾客身上的一种行为。

It's totally fine as long as the workers are being sufficiently paid. Far better than relying on tips for payment.
I don't tip either. I don't care. I'm not going to be bullied into laying extra. I didn't expect people to tip me when I worked in food service because I was a grown ass adult. when I became the manager, I just paid people better until I got fired for doing it.
I wish America had no tipping culture, but we have too many service positions that don't earn a decent living wage. Too much tipping here. I try to adhere to tipping norms of the past, for low wage workers providing service like pink collar workers, or for a personalized service above and beyond.
