The US government has announced a new round of arms sales to Taiwan. Hu Xijin, former editor in chief of the Chinese official media Global Times, wrote in a social media post that no one believes that Taiwan's increased purchase of US weapons can resist the PLA's attack in a possible Taiwan Strait war, and believes that "once the war breaks out, the PLA will not be as cowardly and incompetent as the Russian military".

Hu Xijin wrote on Weibo on Thursday (18th) that no one believes that Taiwan's increased purchase of American weapons can withstand the attacks of the People's Liberation Army in the Taiwan Strait War.

Hu Xijin stated that the joint efforts of the United States and its allies are unable to balance the current military power of the mainland. The United States has shown reluctance to intervene militarily in the Taiwan Strait and has been almost completely defeated by the People's Liberation Army in multiple military campaigns. Therefore, it is increasingly impossible for the US military to intervene in the Taiwan Strait War.

He said that relying on the Taiwanese military to resist the People's Liberation Army, Lai Ching te's wild talk of turning Taiwan into a "steel pig" is purely a political show, deceiving the Taiwanese people to "provide support and obedience for the last time when the separatist regime in Taiwan is in turmoil". Hu Xijin believes that once the mainland launches a comprehensive campaign to liberate Taiwan, it will be devastating, and advocates that if it does, several key figures of "Taiwan independence" must be beheaded in the first place, the command system must be destroyed, and all military infrastructure of the Taiwanese army must be destroyed in the first time to eliminate the living forces.
