Before coming, many people warned me to pay attention to safety in Paris, as there are many thieves. Before coming here, I watched many online videos that said Paris was full of garbage and many mice. Many people say that Parisians are very indifferent.
But after four days, what I saw was not like this at all
.
There is a lot of sand here, and as soon as the wind blows, it rises and enters the eyes. The subway has almost no urine odor, and the overall smell is normal. The road I have walked may not be very clean, but it is not very dirty either. There are many cigarette butts on the Eiffel Tower and the banks of the Seine River. If we were to strictly say that they are dirty, I don't think so. It's like a normal big city. I sit by the Seine River and can't even smell the stench.
.
As for the issue of thieves that everyone is very concerned about, I haven't seen any thieves these days. Famous tourist attractions and train stations have police stationed there. I used public transportation throughout the entire journey, and I couldn't see any gypsies at the subway station. It seems that except for the Chinese, everyone else doesn't care.
.
The French are also very helpful when they encounter a road they don't understand, and the young people here are basically free of obstacles in English communication. Young people also love to initiate conversations. When encountering an elderly person who doesn't understand English, it's better for me to speak than to draw heels with my hands.
.
Although they don't have the legendary love for reading, and there are also many people who watch and play on their phones and TikTok, their artistic atmosphere really permeates their lives: street performers, painters from Montmartre, imitators in museums, and singers by the Seine River are all living images of Paris.
.
Paris is as relaxed as the legend suggests. You never know what day it is here, because every moment, open-air cafes, the Seine River, and discounted department stores are crowded, as if they don't have to work at all. There is no sense of class atmosphere at all.
.
Delicate French women always wear nails, perfume, and appropriate and comfortable clothes. I am never afraid of aging caused by sunlight.
.
Paris is very special, a bit like Shanghai, but it's not Shanghai at all. Paris is indeed Paris.
(Warm reminder: Even if it is safe, protective measures should be taken to guard against thieves.)
