Applying through the Woof Schweiz organization now requires paying an annual fee of 35 euros, and then contacting the environmental organization or organic farm in need on your own. Most of the work is done on organic farms, and I have chosen the environmental organization shown in Figure 13-14.
Do what?
The main goal is to remove invasive species from nature reserves in the Bern region and protect the environment. I work about eight hours a day, even on rainy days. We need to go to the grass and pull out weeds by the river. The workload is not small, especially during the hot weather in summer.

I went there for a month, but only had 12 days to work, and the rest of the time I went around playing.
What about food and accommodation
I need to pay for my own trip to Switzerland, with free accommodation and meals, and a monthly train pass for the entire Switzerland, so it's more convenient for me to travel around. If I were to stay, because the organizer's family accepted a family of seven from Ukraine at that time, there were no rooms for me to stay in. So I went to live with three Swiss families from her neighbor's environmental organization and other staff members.
Experience and Gain
I have traveled to Switzerland before, but this experience is completely different. It can be considered as a deep trip to Switzerland, where I went deep into Swiss homes, lived and worked with Swiss people, and gained a lot. I traveled around Switzerland, ate Swiss food with Swiss people, cooked Chinese food for them, learned about the lives of Swiss farmers, and had a special experience of riding donkeys. Until now, I still miss the life back then. I recommend everyone to give it a try, especially for students who have summer vacation
