we also do not have a tipping culture. businesses being greedy is capitalism, not culture. no one wants it to be like this, but businesses don't want to pay their employees, so it has to be.

It's immoral. Let me explain. At my past job, everyone was on minimum wage but the standards were extremely high (hotel). Customers tipped, so basically the owners got extremely hard workers for minimum wage. The owners were all foreigners too.

In America we tip restaurant workers because wage laws allow bosses to pay restaurant workers a lower wage than other workers. we're just laying the workers wages because the boss isn't legally required to. it's an awful system and there is a political effort to end it.
