Little Lakes Valley Trail, Probably the place I want to revisit the most throughout the summer
The whole round trip is less than 8 miles long, with a gentle path, but you can see the scenery of snow capped mountains, high mountain lakes, wildflowers, and streams gathering together It can be considered a beginner friendly route in the small and long line Walking on such a trail, it seems like you don't need to put in any effort to be gently treated by the scenery
Trailhead is located in Mosquito Flat, at an altitude of over 3000 meters The car can drive all the way to the deepest point, but I didn't arrive until after 10am and the parking space was already full We can only stop a little further and walk slowly back (strongly recommend leaving early!) In summer, the Sierra sky is high and the sunshine is clear, and every lake seems to be glowing
When passing by Long Lake, I lay by the lake for a while without wanting to do anything. The sun was shining on my face, the wind was blowing behind my neck, and the mountain was motionless ahead At that moment, I suddenly realized that the meaning of hiking was not to "see" many sceneries, but to finally slow down and do nothing, just "be there"
After the entire journey, you will pass through multiple lakes (Heart Lake, Box Lake, Gem Lake...), each different but with the same kind of quiet magic Even just sitting for a while can be cured
On the way back, I remembered the line written by John Muir: "Going to the mountains is going home." The feeling of "going home" is not an exaggeration It's not noisy, it just picks you up from your chaotic daily routine when the wind blows gently
