On the 8th, Thai Prime Minister Anuntin delivered a national televised speech on the situation at the Thai Cambodian border after concluding an emergency meeting, stating that the government is closely monitoring the development of the situation and has ordered all security agencies to fully integrate their forces and make all preparations to safeguard national sovereignty and security.
Anuting said that the government reiterates that Thailand will always steadfastly defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, while adhering to international law and the principle of legitimate defense. The National Security Council meeting held on the same day has also confirmed that military action will be taken and other necessary military measures will be implemented in all necessary circumstances based on the actual situation.
Anutin emphasized that in order to ensure accurate information and prevent public panic, the government calls on the public to only obtain information through official channels. The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will serve as the main agencies for releasing all relevant information.
