Cinque Terre is a collective term for five cliff fishing villages located on the coastline of Liguria region, known as the "Pearl of the Mediterranean". It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1997.
This place is famous for its colorful houses, steep terraced vineyards, clear waters, and ancient hiking trails, making it one of Italy's most charming travel destinations.
We are going to one of the villages this time:
📍 Manarola
Manarola is the most photogenic village in the Cinque Terre, a classic scene in postcards! Colorful houses are built along the cliffs, arranged in a staggered manner. The coastline here is magnificent and steep, especially at sunset when the villages are shrouded in a soft glow. This is a famous trail connecting Manarola and Rio Maggiore, known as the 'Road of Love'. You can taste the local specialty fried seafood 🦞🦑🍟🧅🍋
Trains can be used to travel between villages 🚄
The other four villages were checked at the hotel and they are:
one ️⃣ Monterosso
The only village with a wide beach suitable for swimming and sunbathing.
two ️⃣ Vernazza
Having a natural harbor and Gothic style church ⛪ It is also one of the most pastoral villages in the Cinque Terre.
three ️⃣ Cornelia
The only village not facing the sea, located on a cliff that is 100 meters high, requires climbing 382 steps of the "Lover's Ladder" to reach. This is the smallest village in the Cinque Terre, but it is also the quietest and most pristine place, suitable for tourists who enjoy hiking and exploring nature.
four ️⃣ Rio Maggiore
The southern gateway of Cinque Terre, the largest and busiest village, where houses are arranged on steep slopes leading directly to the sea, forming a beautiful natural theater.
