one   Over Oil Meat: Datong over Oil Meat is different from other places in Shanxi. The pork tenderloin is thin and tender, and it is fragrant with vinegar but not greasy. You can eat this dish at any big restaurant in Datong without making mistakes!

two   Sheep offal: Datong sheep offal is a type of red oil, fragrant but not spicy. We recommend Fenglinge and Longjuxiang, both of which do not have a strong lamb smell and are relatively easy to accept. Cliff Shepherd is more spicy, with a large amount of German flavor and affordable.

three  Daoxiao Noodles: Daoxiao Noodles in Datong can be divided into two categories, one is the meat foam/meat stuffing category, the other is the diced meat/meat pieces category. There are both kinds of Xijin Taoism, so you should give priority to others. Their products are very stable, and they will not make mistakes when you eat them. The type of meat foam tends to be thin, which most people can get used to. If Xijin Road cannot be ranked, you can eat Dongfang shaved noodles. Many chain stores are popular among locals. I don't recommend Xinsheng to outsiders because their products are unstable, sometimes delicious and sometimes bland. The type of meat chunks tends to be fatty, and if you can eat oily or fatty ones, be sure to try the double plate shaved noodles, they are super fragrant!

four   Shao Mai: I recommend Long Juxiang's pan fried lamb Shao Mai, which has a crispy base. If you don't like greasy food and prefer softer ones, you can choose steamed Shao Mai. Fenglinge has a wide range of categories, including chicken, rabbit meat, and more, which can also be ordered individually. It is more friendly for dining with fewer people.

five  Cold Noodles: The fragrance of Datong's cold noodles lies in chili oil, and the difference in taste between households also lies in chili. Yulan's style is not spicy, Shunyi's style is a bit oily, and Pingping's style is spicy. There are two convenient stores in Shunyi Ancient City.

six   Bean noodles: In addition to Daoxiao Noodles in Datong, local people often eat bean noodles. The noodles are soft and exquisite, and with large pieces of meat sauce, they are delicious! I recommend Liu Laolao's pork bean noodles and Fuxingzhai's beef bean noodles!

seven   Yanmian: It is a coarse grain that can be tasted with Long Juxiang's scallion mixed with oil noodles. It has a sweet and spicy taste and is very refreshing. There is also eggplant, potato, and roasted oat flour from 369 Coarse Grain Restaurant, which has a different taste and may not be very fragrant. The buckwheat noodle platter in Northwest buckwheat noodle village requires dipping in cold vegetable soup or meat broth, and you can eat several types of buckwheat noodles at once.

eight   Rabbit Head: Chengdu is famous for cold eating rabbit head, while Datong mainly eats braised rabbit head. The stewed rabbit head is fragrant and flavorful, and you should choose from big restaurants such as Long Juxiang and 369 Coarse Grain Restaurant. The processing is very clean and there is no special taste.

nine   Tofu Powder: You can go to Wang Laowu's Tofu Powder restaurant. There are shops on Shuaifu Street and Yanyun outside the ancient city. This spicy dish is delicious!

Datong specialty snack: Heshengcai's sea buckthorn ice bread is sour, sweet, and not greasy. Mulan's tea smoked chicken legs 15/2, very affordable, you can try them without queuing. Be sure to try the sea buckthorn and bitter buckwheat ice cream from Mulan's ice cream. These two are so delicious, one is sour and refreshing, and the other has a sweet taste. They only cost 16 when combined! For those who love to eat fried skewers, you can go to the Seven Middle Fried skewers main store, sprinkle sesame cumin on it, it's crispy and crunchy! Long Juxiang's Almond curd also has a strong almond flavor! For those who love desserts, you can go buy walnut pies from Garden Hotel! Huanghua cakes can also be brought as a specialty to friends from other places!

原来大同有肉联厂,销售兔肉,兔肉都外销了,剩下的兔头,兔骨架(大同叫兔篮架)就扔掉了,6、7⑩年代穷,有的人就把兔头兔篮架捡回家洗干净煮熟了吃,然后就发现了新大陆。80年代大街上就开始有人卖兔头了,随着时代的发展,兔头也从2分钱、5分钱一个涨到了现在的15块钱。帅府街是大同最早最有名的兔头一条街,还有怀仁的兔头也好吃。
