On December 12th local time, US President Trump stated on the social media platform "Real Social" that he had separate phone conversations with Thai Prime Minister Anuntin and Cambodian Prime Minister Honma Nai that morning to discuss the latest developments in the border conflict between the two countries. Trump said that the leaders of the two countries have agreed to cease all hostilities from that evening and return to the original peace agreement reached with their participation.

Trump also thanked Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his assistance in facilitating the ceasefire.
