On December 13th, according to technology media MacRumors, Apple has officially released the tvOS 26.2 system, which is compatible with all Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD (fourth generation) models, about a month after the last update to tvOS 26.1.
IT Home cites MacRumors and tvOS 26.2, which has changed the way personal profiles operate by adding an option to create profiles without logging into an Apple ID. This means that owners can create individual user profiles for visitors or children without binding an Apple ID.
In addition, the system also provides a children's mode with age restriction options. When enabled, the Apple TV App intelligently displays videos/movies that meet the rating standards, which can prevent teenagers from seeing inappropriate content in the Apple TV App. Multiple ratings such as TV-G, TV-PG, TV-14 can be selected.
At present, tvOS 26.2 has been globally pushed, but due to time differences and server differences in different regions, users in some areas may not receive update push notifications in a timely manner. They can go to "Settings" -->"System" -->"Software Updates" to manually check and download updates.
