According to The Game Post, a new rumor about the PS5 Pro suggests that Sony does not plan to add frame generation functionality to the PSSR 2.

MLID, a well-known hardware expert, revealed that during a conversation with a source familiar with Sony's development tools, they directly asked if PSSR 2 included frame generation content. The other party responded clearly with "absolutely no" and emphasized that no developer had ever requested to add this feature, and developers generally disliked frame generation.

This statement does not mean that frame generation cannot be achieved on the PS platform, but rather that Sony positions PSSR 2 as a tool for image quality amplification and enhancement, rather than a frame generation project. Possible reasons include frame generation accompanied by image artifacts, inconsistent actions, and other trade-off issues.

It should be noted that although the MLID leak has a high level of credibility, it is still a rumor until officially confirmed by Sony. It is recommended to take a rational approach.
