On the noon of December 4th, Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Macron jointly attended the closing ceremony of the seventh meeting of the China France Business Council in Beijing and delivered speeches.

Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the beginning of a new era in China France relations. The areas of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries are constantly expanding and their resilience is constantly enhancing. In the first 10 months, the bilateral trade volume reached 68.75 billion US dollars, and the cumulative two-way investment exceeded 27 billion US dollars. Both sides should uphold the original intention of establishing diplomatic relations, seize opportunities, deepen cooperation, promote stable and far-reaching bilateral relations, jointly write a better chapter of China France cooperation, and use the stability of China France relations to cope with the uncertainty of today's world.

One is to continuously expand new areas of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. China regards France as an important and indispensable economic and trade partner, welcomes France to actively participate in the process of Chinese path to modernization, and supports competent and willing Chinese enterprises to invest in France. Both sides should tap into the potential for cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, green and digital economy, biomedicine, and silver economy, and continue to promote open cooperation in industrial and supply chains, providing a fair, transparent, non discriminatory, and predictable business environment for enterprises from both countries.

Secondly, we will continue to promote new developments in mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Europe. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe. The essence of China Europe economic and trade relations is complementary advantages and mutual benefit, which can fully achieve dynamic balance in development. Interdependence is not a risk, and the integration of interests is not a threat. Both China and France should promote China Europe to adhere to the positioning of a comprehensive strategic partnership and jointly create a brighter next 50 years for China Europe relations.

The third is to jointly make new contributions to the reform and improvement of global governance. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti Fascist War and the establishment of the United Nations. In order to promote the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system, following the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative, I proposed the Global Governance Initiative in September this year. China and France should practice true multilateralism, jointly safeguard the status and authority of the United Nations, uphold the multilateral trading system centered on the World Trade Organization and based on rules, and contribute positive energy to the reform and improvement of global governance.

Xi Jinping emphasized that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China approved the proposal for the "15th Five Year Plan". China will comprehensively promote Chinese path to modernization and expand high-level opening up. Welcome French entrepreneurs to continue sharing the dividends of China's development.

About 150 representatives from the governments, enterprises, and other sectors of China and France attended the closing ceremony.
