On September 6th local time, a large-scale rally in support of Palestine and opposition to Israel was held in London, UK. As of the 7th, over 800 people have been arrested by the police in the on-site actions related to this parade.
The Metropolitan Police revealed that a total of 890 people were arrested during the operation, of which 857 were suspected of violating the Anti Terrorism Act 2000, and 33 were arrested for other illegal activities, including 17 who were detained on suspicion of assaulting police officers.
It is reported that the scale of this march was about 1500 people, and many pro Palestinian groups made multiple demands during the event: on the one hand, they called on the British government to take practical actions to promote the end of the Gaza Strip conflict and stop sending weapons to Israel; On the other hand, it is explicitly opposed to the British government's previous decision to ban the organization "Palestine Action" that supports Palestine. |
