On December 11th Beijing time, according to Shams, Dallas Mavericks center Lafley will undergo right foot surgery to address ongoing discomfort. He will not be able to play for the rest of the season and is expected to fully recover after the surgery.

This season, Lefley only played in 7 games for the Mavericks, averaging 4.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.6 blocks, and a shooting percentage of 61.1% in 16.4 minutes per game.
