Malaysian News -- The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, expressed their deep sorrow and conveyed their condolences to the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, on the passing of the Tengku Permaisuri’s mother.

In a post on the official Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, Their Royal Highnesses also prayed for the late Hajah Esah Tahar to be placed among the faithful and the righteous.

"Their Royal Highnesses also prayed for the family members to be granted strength and patience in facing this loss," the post read.

The Selangor Royal Office said in a statement that Esah Tahar breathed her last at the age of 82 at a hospital in Damansara at 5.15 am today.

Her remains were laid to rest at the Royal Mausoleum in Shah Alam, Selangor, at about 2.45 pm.
