Non professional wine reviews, just personal reckless drinking
Baifu Double Barrel 12 Years: This is the entry-level model that 90% of whiskey novices would choose, a classic among classics. The liquor is aged in traditional bourbon barrels for at least 12 years, absorbing and blending flavors such as vanilla and honey. It is then aged in sherry barrels for 9 months, absorbing the unique spiciness and sweetness of sherry barrels. The taste is characterized by a distinct nutty sweetness, vanilla cream, and a spicy aroma, with a sweet and long-lasting fruity finish.
Roman Lake Origin Whiskey: As an entry-level whisky from Roman Lake, Origin has a warm leather aroma accompanied by a sweet malt aroma when opened, giving off a sweet malt grain flavor with a hint of astringent citrus, but not bitter. The latter part of it can make you feel the rich sweetness and light citrus peel flavor, which is amazing.
Allen Sherry Bucket: Allen whiskey retains its original Sherry Bucket flavor due to non condensing filtration, resulting in a richer and more mellow taste. Because it is strong in barrels, it has a slightly strong alcohol smell, but when the bottle wakes up for a while, it still tastes good. A plate of pickled seafood or sushi is a good choice to pair with.
Tascapot cask: As a Port aged whiskey, Tascapot's most prominent feature is the harmonious blend of sweet aftertaste and oceanic flavor, showcasing the flavor of smoked island whiskey. After entering the mouth, the pepper spice quickly turns into a peat flavor, and the later experience is a creamy sweetness with a peat flavor mixed with cocoa aroma.
Glenfiddich 12 years: The alcohol content is not as heavy as Allen Sherry casks, with normal floral and fruity aromas, and a hint of creamy flavor, making it easier to drink than Allen. The latter part has a caramel flavor, and the lingering aroma is not as strong as that of Allen Sherry Bucket. Newcomers are definitely worth buying, they won't step on thunder. As a wine priced around 200 yuan, I think it really surprises people.
Sugden Year 12: Just poured alcohol has a strong smell, it's better to wake up for a while. Although this wine has been aged in sherry barrels, its color is not "soy sauce". It has a strong aroma and emits mature fruit flavors, with obvious hints of citrus peel and ripe fruit aroma, faintly revealing floral fragrance. There is also a hint of smoky and baked oak flavor, with a short aftertaste and a bitter finish.
