Because no authorization fee was given, the code name HDHE could only be used, where HD represents Hampden and HE represents High Ester. 2009 was the first year when Hampden produced the Dok mark, and it was also the highest fat mark in the history of the distillery.
This 15-year-old dok is aged in Europe, but unlike tropical aging, long-term aging brings a woody and herbal aroma, and the taste is also more refreshing. Just after opening the bottle, there was a smell of sour pineapple milk. Pour it into the cup and smell a small amount of nail polish, milk, a large amount of sour yellow fruits, warm tea, without the fierce impact of Dok in imagination. The 15 year old Ouchen made the ferocious Dok mellow. The entrance of strong herbs was very sweet, and the herbs faded immediately followed by a very pure durian fragrance, mixed with a little fresh mango. Finally comes the light sour plum, with a very, very long aftertaste. The flavors of bamboo cane and horseshoe drink, plum soda, and ripe mango remain in the mouth, and even after rinsing with water, there is a lingering fragrance on the lips and teeth. When drinking the second cup again, I felt a strong tannin content, with no 58.7% alcohol content throughout the entire process.
This one has a high score of 8.5 on the authoritative rumx website, and after tasting it, I feel that it truly lives up to its name, especially the middle section of the pomegranate fragrance, combined with a higher sweetness. Just like eating a whole piece of highly ripe durian, what's missing is the bitter taste of overripe durian.
