Adobe has announced a collaboration with ChatGPT that will bring several of its top applications into the popular AI ecosystem.


Its apps, including Photoshop, Adobe Express, and Adobe Acrobat, will now be compatible with ChatGPT and will work within the ChatGPT interface. This unique collaboration will give ChatGPT’s 800 million weekly users free access to some of Adobe’s most powerful creative and productivity tools, using its conversational prompts to enact changes to files. Users can potentially discover Adobe features they had never known, experimenting with different prompts.

With the assistance of Adobe Photoshop, users will be able to edit images with standard settings, such as brightness, contrast, and exposure, in addition to adding filters for creative effects, such as Glitch and Glow, without affecting the quality of the image.

Adobe Express for ChatGPT allows users to access its creative library to develop or refine their design within the chat interface.

Adobe Acrobat for ChatGPT enables common features, such as PDF editing and conversion, file organizing, merging, and compressing, and extracting text or tables, while maintaining formatting and quality. Users are also able to redact sensitive details within the ChatGPT interface.

This collaboration comes as Adobe establishes itself more as an AI brand and experiments more with Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard that allows language models (LLMs) to interact with external tools (such as Adobe’s programs). The brand announced its Acrobat Studio earlier this year, which works as a catchall layout hosting PDF tools, PDF Spaces, Acrobat AI Assistant, and Adobe Express Premium features. The brand also AI Assistants for Photoshop and Adobe Express in September, and has plans for an AI Assistant for Adobe Firefly.

The Photoshop, Adobe Express and Acrobat for ChatGPT features are now available across the ChatGPT tiers for desktop, web and iOS users. It will soon be available for Android users as well.

In comparison, Adobe Photoshop starts at $22.99 per month for an individual plan subscription. Adobe Acrobat Pro starts at $19.99, and Adobe Express Premium starts at $9.99. While Adobe does offer some free options, using the ChatGPT variant offers the benefit of using Photoshop, Express, or Acrobat tools without having to intensely learn the suites, or having to leave the commonly known ChatGPT interface.
