#ItalyTravel — Has #Genoa flown under your radar? No worries 👉 time to get acquainted! 💥 Palatial art streets featured on European lists, pastel-hued seaside villages, fairy-tale hilltop castles, and mysterious coastal monasteries… these are all quintessential elements of Genoa!

Transportation?
There are currently no direct flights from China to Genoa. Most travelers fly into Milan first, then take a 2-hour train to Genoa’s Piazza Principe station. Genoa is compact with concentrated attractions—walking is often more efficient than taking vehicles. A relaxed 2–3 day itinerary allows for a deeper exploration, but even an intensive one-day visit can cover the highlights.
·
💡 Here’s a seamless, no-backtracking route:
Porta Soprana → Columbus House → Piazza De Ferrari (Doge’s Palace, Teatro Carlo Felice, etc.) → San Lorenzo Cathedral → Via Garibaldi (Red Palace, White Palace, Tursi Palace, etc.) → Royal Palace of Genoa → Castelletto Belvedere → Old Port of Genoa (Aquarium, panoramic elevator, Galata Maritime Museum, etc.)!

Beyond Genoa’s city center, 💪 I highly recommend exploring the charming coastal towns nearby! While these towns generally share common features—beaches, pastel-colored houses, souvenir shops, and restaurants—each has its own unique charm. If you have time, visit them all; the farthest is just over an hour by train from Genoa. If you’re short on time, simply pick the one that best matches your style!
·
✅ Boccadasse
Take a 20-minute bus ride from Piazza De Ferrari. Rows of pastel-colored houses stand quietly by the sea, and waves crash ashore like foamy beer bubbles! Grab an ice cream cone, sit barefoot by the water, and let your mind drift—happiness and healing come effortlessly here!
✅ Nervi
Just a 15-minute train ride from Brignole Station in central Genoa. Nervi is famed less for its buildings and more for its seaside promenade—a path paved with red bricks that strikingly contrasts the blue sea. That’s Italian aesthetics at its finest!
✅ Camogli
Around 30–40 minutes by train from Brignole Station. Though farther than Boccadasse, Camogli is significantly less crowded—and personally, I find its scenery slightly more stunning! Exploring Camogli typically includes a city walk plus a 20-minute boat trip to San Fruttuoso Abbey.
✅ Portofino
Portofino brims with luxury boutiques and high-end concept stores, while yachts of the wealthy line its harbor. I won’t say more—just know this seaside village is as breathtaking as it is expensive!
✅ Sestri Levante
A 1-hour 20-minute train ride away. A narrow bay stretches outward, creating the illusion of “a sea beyond the sea.” Bonus: it’s also a convenient gateway to Cinque Terre, with direct trains to La Spezia!
