Vance: Venezuela has ignored multiple solutions proposed by Trump.

U.S. Vice President Vance said on Saturday (January 3) that Venezuela has ignored multiple proposals for reconciliation, calling Venezuelan President Maduro "the latest to discover that Trump means what he says."

In a post on the social media platform X, Vance wrote: "The president has offered various solutions, but his stance has remained clear throughout: drug trafficking must stop, and stolen oil must be returned to the United States."

Vance also reiterated U.S. accusations against Maduro, labeling him a fugitive from American law. "You can't escape legal accountability for drug trafficking in the United States just because you live in a palace in Caracas," Vance said.

Multiple loud explosions were heard in Venezuela's capital, Caracas, early Saturday morning. U.S. President Trump later confirmed that Maduro and his wife had been arrested and removed from Venezuela. According to U.S. media reports, Maduro was captured by U.S. Army Delta Force special operations troops.
